Faith vs analytical thinking

For the past several weeks (in fact, for the past 3 months), I have been posting snippets from Bible (New testament), They give a glimpse of how great a master Jesus Christ was. In my view, they are the most important parts of Bible.
But anyone familiar with Bible would have probably noticed that I have skipped a vast body of this religious book that records many miracles performed by Jesus Christ. Elaboration on those miracles and why Jesus performed them, probably needs a separate discussion.

For most devout Christians, these miracles form the basis of their faith. They believe in Jesus not so much for the high ideals that he stood for, but more for the miracles he performed.

I am not critical of faith. Yes, faith is an inalienable part of our lives, even when it is not very logical or scientific. As I have always held, not everything in our life needs to be tempered by logic or scientific correctness. Faith can be beautiful at times. Ask a devotee how he feels when he is immersed in the thought of his Lord. Existence or non existence of his Lord hardly matters to him. The experience is worth it.

Having said that, it is the analytical thinking that can take us forward, into higher states of evolution. It is that which makes our lives more secure. It fortifies our collective coexistence. It safeguards us from the ill designs of those charlatans who want to exploit us. It prevents us from going astray. So analytical thinking is as important as faith, or may be even more.

In the next few posts, I am going to discuss some apparent miraculous powers you and I have, and how we should view them with an analytical mind. That is the approach that can take us forward.
