Actions produce results –
good or bad. Though on the face of it, it may appear that actions
that result in good are good, it is not so.
Even good results are not
good in the long run. For example, the actions that produce wealth,
heavenly abode etc. bind us with more craving for them.
Since these
results eventually get exhausted, we end up grieving for their loss.
So, in this way, even good results are not really good in the long run.
So, in this way, even good results are not really good in the long run.
In that case, why not one stop performing any action? Is that a good choice to make?
"No. Nobody can sit idle even for a minute. The inherent tendency of Rajas, forces a person to act. Some may be strongly Rajasic and some may be to a lesser extent. But all are governed by this Guna. So, it is not possible to sit idle. At least for the sake of carrying on with life, one needs to act.
That being the case, it is always better to act rather than resort to inaction which is not even possible”
But how do we escape the ill
effects of action? We will see that in the next post.
