Many people are curious to know what happens when one meditates for a prolonged duration on a regular basis. Will we experience God? Will there be an extreme ecstatic experience? Does one attain special psychic powers? These are some of the questions people often ask.
Many modern meditative practices which are steeped in auto suggestions, have ill-defined and probably harmful effects. In contrast, in a traditional meditation practice, whether it is Patanjali’s Yoga or the Buddhist one, what you experience is clearly expounded. There are reasons why you go through those experiences and where they lead you to.
My latest audio book on Yoga namely “Part 7 of the Ultimate book on Yoga: What happens when you meditate?” clearly brings out these less understood meditative experiences. In this 1 hour 8 minute audio book, I discuss various stages of meditation, and what one experiences in those stages. I explain these experiences from different perspectives – that of an individual meditator, the way Patanjali views them fortified with Samkhya model of the mind, as well as neurological point of view which equates mind to brain.
Though often dismissed as ‘weird happenings in the brain’, these meditative experiences have a strong logical base. They can be well explained and verified using our modern gadgets like fMRI scanners, to a large extent.
This is the 7th in series of audio books under the series title “The Ultimate book on Yoga”. The complete book is also available in e-book format as well as paperback. I see the audio book already available in google play store. Very soon it will start appearing in other stores and libraries as well.
As usual, use the link https://books2read.com/UltimateYoga to find this book in your favorite store. This link would take you to the first part of the series. Some stores may list the current part explicitly as a book in the series titled “The Ultimate book on Yoga”, some may show it as “other related books”. In some stores you may have to explicitly search for it using the title in the search box. I am sure that you will find this book very interesting and useful.
