Ultimate realization – how easy it is to attain?

In the previous post, we talked about what is meant by the ultimate realization which is worth attaining. But the million dollar question is “can anyone ever attain it?”

Today, we see many Gurus around us who promise to give us a glimpse of this ultimate realization for a small donation – of course, they don’t call it a fee, for obvious reasons ;-)

But can anyone really attain it ? See the prerequisites to attain such a state as listed by Bhagavad Geetha.

“One needs to control the senses. One has to keep the mind calm all the time – both when things happen to one’s liking as well as when they go against one’s liking. One has to always do things solely for the benefit of others.

Further, the person has to meditate on the ultimate reality, the reality that is impossible describe by words, the reality that is totally imperceptible to the senses, the reality that is eternal and behind all perceptible existence.”

If one meets these criteria, then surely one can attain the ultimate realization.

But the Bhagvad geetha admits that

“This path is extremely difficult. As long as one is conscious of one’s embodied existence, as long as one cannot free oneself from the association with one’s body, one cannot attain this ultimate realization”

So what is the way out? That is what we will discuss in the next post.
