In today’s book talk I am going to discuss about the audio version of my book “A Mantra to enhance your mental capabilities”.
A bit of background
Before I delve into the details about the book, let me give you a brief background about my writing this book.
That was a time when many a authors were making a fortune by writing ‘hot' books on mantra - “Mantra to make money”, “Mantra to win in gambling dens”, “A mantra to succeed in relationships”, “Mantra for great sex”, and so on. One of my readers suggested to me why I too should not be writing a book on Mantra?
I normally don’t write something unless I have sufficient basis either from scriptures, or empirical evidence or at least some logical explanation. I don’t like to sound like a “dream seller”.
So reluctantly I wrote this book after gathering sufficient scriptural backup and some logical reasoning. And fortunately, the book was well taken.
What is this book about?
This book is about a Mantra that has been in use for more than 5000 years in India. It has Vedic roots. It is believed that if one chants this Mantra systematically, one’s mental concentration improves tremendously. Increased concentration naturally leads to better grasping and understanding.
I have discussed the Vedic roots of this Mantra and the scenario in which it developed. I have given detailed instructions to chant this Mantra along with the complete text of the Mantra, its verbal meaning and also the audio recording of the Mantra to help anyone to try it out.
In a separate book “How and why of Yoga and Meditation”. I have also tried to give a neuroscience based explanation on how this Mantra probably works to achieve its claimed benefits.
Well, I don’t have any large scale empirical evidence to support the claims other than my own and some of my friends' experiences. I wish someone tries it out on a large scale, like for example, in schools to see whether it really helps in improving the learning capabilities of students.
Historically, this Mantra has been and still being administered to young students for this purpose, and there need be no concern about any negative consequences.
Where can I find this book?
This audiobook is available in almost every online store as well as library that provide audiobooks. Most prominently, you can buy this book from audible, amazon, iTunes, kobo, scribd, google, and Barnes and Noble.
I have provided links to store pages in my blog. Just click the link 'Mantra' under the 'my audiobooks' section on the right column of the blog. As always, my blog address is https://doctor-king-online.blogspot.com
