GV1…..Verses from Bhagavad Gita

Starting today, I will be posting some select verses from ancient Indian scripture namely Bhagavad Gita. This holy book is so well known that it needs hardly any introduction. So, I will skip that.

Due to some health reasons, I may not be in a position to speak to you for some time. But I will be posting a few verses along with simple interpretations every week, as usual on Wednesdays and Fridays.

These verses are beautifully sung by popular singer Padmini Dinesh, specially for my yet to be published audio book on Bhagavad Gita (expected before end of this year). So, you have an advance peek into the audio book 😉

Let me start with today’s verses from Bhagavad Gita.

Chapter 2, verse 13.

Anyone who has a body goes through the stages of childhood, youth, old age, and finally death. But that is not the end. We get reborn once again with a new body. So, one need not be perplexed about this inevitable truth of life.

Chapter 2, verse 12, 16.

There is no end to any one of us. We always existed and continue to exist. That is because the soul is eternal. It is only the body that goes through transformations and finally dies.

Chapter 2, verse 22.

It is like our discarding our worn-out garments and taking on a new one. The soul discards the body that has become used up, and takes on another new body.
