Verse 2.62
Verse 2.63
When a person keeps thinking about sense pleasures, he gets obsessed by such thoughts. Gradually, he starts desiring such pleasures. He may succeed in getting them sometimes, may fail at other times.
If he does not get them, he becomes irritated. Even if he gets them, he becomes too greedy and starts fighting with everyone whom he thinks may come in the way of his pleasure. Either way, he develops anger and hatred.
Verse 2.63
Greed, anger, fear, and so on, push the person into a confused state. His mind becomes unstable. He loses the discretion between right and wrong.
When a person has reached a stage where his discriminating capabilities have gone haywire, such a person cannot achieve much in life, and he gradually destroys himself.
That is the reason why one should not go after sense pleasures.
